Your Resin Bound Installation Guide

Welcome to Supreme Resin Surfaces' comprehensive guide to resin bound installations. Learn about the benefits, the process, and why  we are the right choice for your  project. We're here to provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision about enhancing your property with a beautiful and durable resin bound surface.

Step 1: Excavation

Our stone resin driveway installation process begins with careful excavation. This involves removing the existing surface, whether it’s old tarmac, concrete or grass. We dig out the designated area, paying extra attention to softer soils where we dig deeper to ensure a stable foundation. Excavation to an appropriate depth ensures there’s ample space for the new driveway structure, while also aiding in the removal of any problematic roots or debris.

Step 2: Laying a Permeable Membrane

Once the excavation is complete, we lay a permeable membrane over the area. This membrane is essential for preventing the stone layers on top from dispersing into the sub-soil layers. Essentially, it acts as a barrier, only allowing water to drain through. As a result, the membrane helps avoid waterlogging, reduces the risk of flooding, and maintains the structural durability of the driveway.

Step 3: Preparing the Permeable Sub-Base

We then spread a 6-inch layer of clean type 3 stone over the permeable membrane. This layer acts as a permeable sub-base, providing stability and support for the driveway. Our team ensures the stone is well compacted to create a solid and even foundation which is also capable of facilitating drainage.

Step 4: Installing Edges

The next step is to install edging stones or blocks along the perimeter of the driveway. AtSupreme Resin Surfacing, we understand that every driveway is unique, so we offer different edging options to personalise your project. Edging not only provides structural support but also adds a finishing touch to your stone resin driveway.

Step 5: Install VubaMac

VubaMac is a cutting-edge base material specifically designed for resin-bound surfacing. It offers flexibility, durability, and environmental friendliness, making it a sustainable alternative to traditional concrete and asphalt. Remarkably, VubaMac is 57% stronger than tarmac, significantly increasing your warranty compared to any other base. This innovative material promotes natural drainage and enhances the permeability of the driveway. We apply VubaMac evenly over the sub-base, ensuring a smooth and level surface that perfectly prepares for the final layer.

Step 6: Laying the Resin-Bound Layer

The final step in our installation process is the application of the resin-bound layer. The Vuba resin-bound mixture is precisely blended and then spread over the prepared surface. This mixture consists of recycled and natural aggregates, bound together with UV-Stable resin. Once applied, our skilled team levels and smooths the mixture to create a seamless finish. Finally, we sprinkle crushed glass over the surface, which, though invisible to the eye, provides an extra layer of traction for ultimate grip. The resin-bound surface not only looks exquisite but is also extremely durable and low-maintenance.
